초록
Abstract
This study intends to analyze the general printed encyclopedia published and circulated in Korea. The main purpose it is to offer extensive information helping users or librarians to select superior encyclopedia. 4 printed encyclopedia published and circulated in Korea since 1993 are selected for this purpose And they are analyzed on the basis of 6 evaluation standards (purpose & scope, authority, accessibility, clarity & readability, format and special features & cost). Especially, 4 printed encyclopedia among the best American encyclopedia having long history were also co-analyzed to certificate the validity of the evaluative standards.

Abstract
This paper aims to demonstrate the theory of social cognition which librarianship have an effect on societal development. For these purpose, the stages of societal development is classified into three stages of economic growth, information sharing and self-actualization of individual and objectives of developments are investigated by stages. At last, the theory of social cognition which librarianship contribute to societal development are demonstrated with searching the roels of libraries corresponding to the objectives of development stages.

Abstract
Because most of the medical literatures published in Korea are not listed on the foreign famous index or abstracts journals, it is necessary to index and abstract them domestically. Increasing number of medical literatures makes one final to refer to informations needs without nay secondary materials. Recently, any indexes and abstracts of medical literatures are published, but there are no tertiary lists. Because of that fact, it is difficult to know the status quo of the bibliographic works for the medical literatures in Korea. In this research, status quo of indexing of abstracting of articles in domestic medical journals were investigated and systems or contents of the indexing an abstracting in Korea were analyzed to suggest the standard of bibliographic control.

This essay traces the paths in which the writers have involved themselves in developing 'the studies of the present developmental stage' in their own field of studies, an by extension have become aware of the widespread presence of the discussion of decolonization in fields of social sciences. The present essay takes communication studies for a case of an indepth analysis of the effort toward academic self-reliance.

The purpose of this study is offering appropriate system and training program to helf the system designer and the trainer in addition to analyze information use behavior about the web search tools and evaluate the estimated system by user groups. The results of the study are as follows <TEX>$\circledS1$</TEX> It is desirable to consider age than other demographic variables in the case of web search tool. <TEX>$\circledS2$</TEX> It is desirable to design Directory Search Tool in the case of web search tool which serves the student user group. <TEX>$\circledS3$</TEX> An Intelligent Search Tool is more appropriate for the students who are using keyword search tool than any other tools. <TEX>$\circledS4$</TEX> A discussion about standard classification of the web information should be accomplished soon because users feel confused in using web search tools due t o absence of standard mode of classification about classified item. <TEX>$\circledS5$</TEX> Librarians need the cognition about data on internet s a source of information and need positive service and user training program about these information because student users hardly get help from librarians or library orientation for learning method to use web search tool. <TEX>$\circledS6$</TEX> Internet use experience and years of computer use had effect on their use ability when using web search tool, whereas computer use experience, library use experience and Online Public Access Catalogs (OPAC) use experience had no effect on it. Especially, OPAC use experience had no effect on use ability of web search tool of student user group because student user groups had no information about internet and web search tool and they did not recognized the difference about search method between web search tool and OPAC. <TEX>$\circledS7$</TEX>In the case of web search tool, it si important to index the increasing web resource automatically by a searching robot. But in the case of student users, web search tool is much more needed to index by index expert due to the absence of ability about selecting and combining keyword.

This report presented the here after subject of checking the inspection points on positive management and element of the management circle process as checkup about pending questions of library management corresponding the conversion of the management paradigm for library in the rapidly changing digital circumstances.

This study examine various specific characters of library as an organization, and some changes in the circumstances of library caused by inducing information technology under the knowledge-based society. On the basis of the analyses, this study is to drive some effective improvements of the manager's leadership to cope with the paradigm shift of manager of library.

Information technology is affecting most areas of society in information society, schools are facing with the change of learning methods by computer and internet. The purpose of this study is to apply internet technology to school library, for maximizing the function of school library in information age. This study designed and implemented th ISLMC(Internet School Library Media Center) using the WWW, that gathers, processes and stores the useful information resources on the internet and effectively provides these to teachers, students and their parents of the learning activities.

The growth of digital image an video archives is increasing the need for tools that efficiently search through large amount of visual dta. Retrieval of visual data is important issue in multimedia database. We are using contented-based visual data retrieval method for efficient retrieval of visual data. In this paper, we introduced fundamental techniques using characteristic values of image data and indexing techniques required for content-based visual retrieval. In addition we introduced content-based visual retrieval system for use of digital library.

General types of the organizations are archives room as a part of department; department unit of archives and records management (or special collections); archives and records office as a independent information center of University.
